After more than a year of training and perfecting his skills in the IwW Lock-Up, Mullingar native Wayne Daly made his debut at GymWars 10 and has been impressing crowds all over the country ever since. Daly began a short-lived but intensive rivalry against fellow graduate Ryan Regan, and has also faced the likes of George McFly and Vic Viper, taking both men to the limit respectively. Performances such as these led to Daly facing Bam Katraz at IwW International Intermingle, the greatest IwW show of 2006.
With an impressive arsenal of moves comprised of a mix of power, speed and unbelievable technical ability, Wayne Daly is able to ground opponents or even take to the air with uncanny aerial ability for a man his size. Allied to this are two devastating finishing manoeuvres in the Reverse Spinning Neckbreaker and the Sit-Out Front Suplex, and Daly is not to be under-estimated by any on the IwW roster.
Daly was one of eight IwW Lock-Up Graduates chosen by IwW officials for the first ever King of the Gym tournament, and beat Irish Dragon in what some would call an upset victory to advance to the semi final where he faced JC Williams - yet again, Daly upset the odds and advanced to the final of the tournament.
At GymWars 17, Wayne Daly faced hot favourite Mandrake and silenced the doubters by defeating the ‘man from the black abyss’ to become the first ever IwW ‘King of the Gym’ in front of the entire IwW roster, and cementing his name among the IwW roster.
With the skills and the guts displayed so far, Mullingar’s own Wayne Daly is emerging as one of the most talented and promising young superstars in IwW. Whether in singles action or tagging with his partner Captain Rooney, Daly is one name to watch for in the future. |
