"The Future is Now. The Future is Rick O'Shea"
Some call him 'The Revolution', some 'The Made for TV Messiah', others even refer to him as 'The Future of Wrestling. Period'. Most might know him as 'Rick is Gay' though. Whatever you call him though, he is Rick O'Shea and he is one of IwW's most controversial stars today.
A former head official of IwW, Rick's old mantra used to be based around paying his dues and earning a spot in the professional wrestling business. However at the turn of 2006 he turned on this attitude, the fans and former best friend Steve Mulligan to begin the era of 'The Revolution'.
Since then, O'Shea has set his sights on some of IwW's most high-profile names. His rage and intensity has increased since losing big matches to the likes of Mulligan and when he had his head-shaved in a Hair-vs-Mask match against Irish Dragon in his birthplace of Blanchardstown. O'Shea has turned into one of the most sneaky and conniving wrestlers on the roster, forging and breaking alliances like nobodies business and picking on such underdogs as IwW commentator Eamonn Darcy on his path to prove himself as 'The Future'.
His most high-profile match to date has been a Hardcore Match against IwW fan favourite Mad Man Manson, where in the main event the two inflicted a huge amount of pain and suffering on each other. During the course of the bout, chairs, belts, thumbtacks and even a cake were used as the two physically dismantled each other. In the end, O'Shea would fall short when Manson would nail him with a chairshot to the head before following up with a slam through a stack of three chairs onto thumbtacks.
More recently, O'Shea has been using his backstage politics to form some sort of anti-IwW establishment behind-the-scenes. Already the likes of 'The Fresh Prince of Bel Clair' Harry Hardshaw seem to be jumping on board of this Revolution 'The Made for TV Messiah' seems to be concocting. We know that O'Shea's grievances with IwW management goes back a long way to his refereeing days when he felt that they weren't using him for his potential worth. As a new chapter looks to open up in the career of 'The Revolution', is anyone in IwW or the wrestling world altogether safe?
