In June of this year, Bingo Ballance will have reached the two year mark with IwW, and this man has already made quite an impact since his Gym Wars 3 début in 2005.
Last year, Ballance broke out and made a name for himself as one of the top names in IwW's Zero Gravity division, with victories over formidable opponents like 'The Heretic' Red Vinny, BubbleGum, 'The New Messiah' J.P. Monroe, Bam Katraz, The Irish Dragon, and The Hornet. Ballance even ventured overseas to RQW and Celtic Wrestling, last year, to face some of the best the UK had to offer.
At the beginning of 2007, though, Ballance reached the pinnacle of his career when he overcame the odds and was victorious in a twelve-man tournament to crown the first-ever IwW Zero Gravity Champion. Defeating his protegé Brother Skelly in the Quarter Finals, and winning a hard-fought 3 Way Semi-Final (involving BubbleGum and Emil Sitoci), Ballance finally lifted the Zero Gravity Championship, as he defeated the sensational 'Man That Gravity Forgot' Pac, in the Final, with the BSP. Though this Title is a tangible representation of everything he has worked towards for the last two years, the Clontarf native knows that the Title is also a target, and that he'll have to watch his back as more and more hungry competitors gather, and look to challenge for the gold.
Dubbed the 'Aerial Artisan' by some, Ballance's electrifying high-flying manoeuvres (including a springboard back elbow, Superman Plancha, springboard crossbody and, of course, his unique BSP finisher) astound his opponents, and by fusing these with his power-based arsenal of manoeuvres, he is bound to stay one step ahead of the competition.
Though he has achieved his goal of becoming ZG Champ, Ballance is not one to rest on his laurels, or become complacent, and has vowed to be a fighting and honourable champion, and will prove that he deserves to hold the gold. |
